I never realised that Saul Goodman = S'all Good Man! I always though that he had chosen some generic successful-Jewish-lawyer-stereotype name. Sometimes I feel stupid...

It is that too. In Breaking Bad he says that he's not actually Jewish, his last name is actually McGill.

In the new series he starts as James Mc Gill. It jumps back and forth a bit, so it's unclear when exactly he changed it.

I missed that too.

It's leading up to it though, you know its happening in the next episode or two. His brother's firm is getting touchier over him using the "McGill" name and he got his hand slapped big time over that logo. Plus, the flashback is the first time we've heard him say the name out loud so far.

I've found that the BBad/Saul writers never waste a line of dialog, so I'm sure we'll find out exactly when Slippin' Jimmy became S'all Good Man. BBad was my favorite show of all time because of the writing, so I'm a bit biased, but I honestly cannot think of another series where the writers have the foresight to ensure that every word spoken on the show is relevant to later events. E.g.,

Sopranos - wasted half seasons on characters and subplots that were never revisited.

The Wire - ehm, Season 2.

GOT - too new to tell, but there are just too many characters and subplots to not get gluttonous with wasteful subplots

Mad Men - never got into it, perhaps this is the ONE

I am only really versed in GOT and The Wire.

-While the 2nd season of The Wire really deviated, it had good characters and a strong storyline. The very few people that I got hooked on that show (I live in Germany, where it was never aired) stayed hooked. So it did the job.

- GOT? Well let's see. I read the books, they stayed pretty true to that, so far. I've read that they are going to deviate further from now on. The verdict is still out on that one, I think. And where is that next book???? He really needs to get his game on!

BTW. Are you still driving said Passat?
